While we were a lil iffy about being in an empty restaurant on a Friday evening, we’re incredibly happy that we stopped here for dinner! We ordered the charcoal chicken (+ rice/fries/hummus), the meat manaeesh, with a side of fresh pita, and we were incredibly happy with the flavour and the portion sizes! Each component was tasty on its own, and they all came together pretty nicely! We’re definitely looking forward to coming back here and trying a few other things on the menu!

We came here for the first time recently. For 4 persons, we ordered 3 items but only two came: 1/2 (half) kilo mixed grill and Triple XXX. For drinks, we ordered a pot of green tea. Total cost was approx. $110 before tax & tips. As it turned out, the quantity of food was perfect for 4 persons. We all loved the humus, pita, salad, rice and chicken. The beef was tender. The fries were from Costco. Almost everything was good except for the faint smell of tobacco as this restaurant doubles as a Hookah Bar. We planned to have dessert somewhere else so we skipped their dessert options. The waiter's service was okay although we struggled to understand his English. The cashier was friendly though. He gave us a rice pudding cup covered in sliced almond and crushed pistachios to try. It was delicious. Next time, we'll order takeout so our clothes don't pick up the Hookah scent.

I ordered 2 veggie platters for take out. Both were missing the grape leaf rolls. Rest of the items tasted ok but I would expect all items listed on the platter to be served at the least.

We were looking for something delicious that was open late at night after a long day of work and would have settled for something simple but we're very pleasantly surprised to find such a happening and delicious restaurant! They do have a very good reputation for great food and a good time and the place was near capacity at 11:00 p.m. on a Friday night. We ordered a 1 kg mixed grill for our party of four and it was literally the perfect amount of food! All the meats especially the kafta were juicy and flavorful and the dips especially the eggplant were satisfyingly delicious. The pita was another one of the highlights coming from the kitchen hot and fluffy was the perfect accompaniment to the mixed grill and dips. We had a great time and for sure we will be back!

Before you even enter Chic Pea, you can smell the wood oven they use to make their pita fresh made to order. This was my first visit so I went with the Chic Pea Trio of dips: hummus, mutabal and baba ganouj. Beautifully plated and each dip was fantastic and a great deal at only $15. I wanted to make sure I tried something from the grill as well so they very kindly provided me a small side of chicken Shwarma, even though it's not on the menu. The Shwarma was crispy and delicious and beautifully spiced. I appreciated a salt grinder at the table as I like a lots of salt but also appreciate that they have a gentle touch with seasoning in the kitchen. I recommend the Hummus and Shwarma at $12 if you like dip and Shwarma. The pita is divine. The smoking smell of the wood oven, the warmth and softeners of the bread is a thing if beauty. The pita doesn't have a touch of cinnamon like Cafe Arabesque - I found I didn't miss it and I know some would prefer plain pita to give focus the rest of the meal. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Looking forward to discovering the rest of the menu.
