Shelby’s Legendary Shawarma is more than just a shawarma spot – it’s a Canadian success story born from friendship, family recipes, and a passion for authentic food. What started in a small food trailer in Lambeth, Ontario, with Yazan and Yasser serving their mom’s chicken shawarma recipe, has grown into one of the fastest-expanding Middle Eastern food brands in the country.
Customers describe Shelby’s as “modern, clean, and welcoming,” with staff who go above and beyond to make each visit memorable. The food, however, is the real star. The classic chicken shawarma wrap is praised for its tender, juicy meat, fresh veggies, and perfectly balanced sauces. Sides like the crispy garlic potatoes are consistently called “to die for,” and creative menu items like shawarma poutine or the Bites Box (shawarma quesadilla) surprise and delight both newcomers and long-time fans. Even desserts like the butterscotch kunafa leave a lasting impression.
From setting world records for the longest shawarma and falafel wraps to opening 37 locations across Ontario and Quebec, Shelby’s has stayed true to its roots: serving fresh, flavorful food with heart. Guests love the open kitchen, generous portions, and the way global flavors are fused with traditional Lebanese shawarma to create something truly unique.
Whether dining in, grabbing takeout, or ordering through the Shelby’s app, every experience is built on the same values: authentic flavor, modern creativity, and legendary hospitality.

Dined in at this location for dinner. Took a large bowl that was almost enough for two people. The taste was so good with generous amount. Definitely worth the price.

This is my first time visit . After my son’s recommendation. Shawarma box was amazing , specially the small roll was out of the world . I was not happy with the service as we waited more than 25min . They were getting more online order I believe that’s the reason service was slow . I don’t like shawarma bowl as the chicken was less in quantity . Overall experience was good . I would recommend shawarma and onion ring with garlic sauce .

Tried the traditional chicken shawarma wrap and a large bowl. Although I had a lot of hope for the shawarma, it was just okay.nnThe bowl however was pretty good. The rice was flavourful and sauces went well along with the meats and other topping. Definitely enjoyable.nnShawarma - 3.5/5 (Compared to many better shawamas in the GTA)nBowl - 5/5nService - 4.5/5nnI just wish they put the cooked meat from the spit onto the shawarma rather than having it sit in a separate container.

This is one of many visits to Shelby’s. First time in London. Easy to choose menu with great images to make it easier to understand what you get.nRather than lettuce they need to have parsley for a more authentic middle eastern taste however it’s still good. Food is nicely prepared in front of you and they have great packaging.nIt’s very hands off as you order with a tablet and the only interaction with staff is when they call your number and you pick up your food. I can’t really assess service as within the limited interaction it was minimal and nothing special although they were polite and friendly.nAtmosphere is nice. Bigger and better parking options compared to the Windsor locationnnWe ordered chicken shawarma wraps falafels salad, pita and hummus along with soft drinks. Overall it’s good and clean.

My Shawarma Credentials: 10 years living in Ottawa - the Land of Shawarma. Middle East descent.nnAfter being hounded by my kids to visit this place and being fond of their social media myself, we made the trek from the GTA to the main location and we left deflated. This food is disgusting and sauced to death. The 'spicy' version of everything has an insane amount of sweetness to it and it is just gross. You can't even taste the meat or any seasoning it may have had. Your body revolts with the amount of sauce and sweetness the sandwich had. We tried 4 sandwiches, 2 mixed and 2 chicken. All tasted the like same soupy sweet mess with no way to tell that the mixed sandwiches had a different type of meat in there. We also ordered the mixed meat Poutine and same gross sweetness even though we asked for it spicy. Fans of Eastern Canada Gyros with the sweet garlic sauce would probably like these shawarmas but quite frankly this amount of sauce is enough to make you puke.nnHow ANYONE could WANT to add ketchup to this level of sauce and sweet is just crazy. Adding Ketchup to a TRUE shawarma is certainly a tragedy but adding it to this is just pure confusion.nnThis place would not last more than a month in Ottawa. Once they made their money on all the 'first visits' from their YouTube/TAK-TAK fan base, there would be no repeat visits and they would be out of business. The land of real shawarma would vet them out in no time.nnDon't buy into the hype and it's not worth driving to London. FYI Tahini's is no better - perhaps a bit better than Shelby's but equally overhyped.nnTrue Shawarma is hard to find in GTA.. There are places downtown for sure but once you have experienced Ottawa (or Montreal) with properly seasoned meat, real Lebanese Garlic Toum Sauce and their garlic potatoes, you'll wonder what has gone wrong with the GTA.nn1-Star. +1 star for the fresh bread. That is a nice touch that more places should do but it is truly wasted on what they put in it after.nnTHE WORST PART IS that the sandwiches are not SEARED the way they show in their videos. Why would you show this and then not do it for customers? This is very misleading .... but I don't think that treatment would help the sandwich.nnBest in the west? I think not.
